With AppsFlyer integration, you can see a real-time feed of installations and in-app events in the Adform platform (for this purpose, you can use Adform custom and standard reports).

There are two ways to track apps, as AppsFlyer supports click-through and view-through app events attribution.

Track Install Events

To track users who installed the app, you need to configure the installation tracking settings in AppsFlyer. To activate the installation events tracking, follow the AppsFlyer Install Tracking Integration Guide.

Note

The Client Tracking ID that is needed in this integration is the Adform tracking setup ID which you can find at the top of Site Tracking > Tracking Settings page.

Track In-App Events

To track users’ actions performed inside the app, you need to configure the In-App Events Settings in AppsFlyer. To activate the in-app events tracking, follow the AppsFlyer In-App Integration Guide.

Note

The Client Tracking ID that is needed in this integration is the Adform tracking setup ID which you can find in the Site Tracking > Tracking Settings page.

Partner event identifier that you will define in this setup will be the name of the tracking point in Adform and will be shown in the reports, tracking point lists and filters.

Click-Through Tracking (Click Attribution)

To track users who clicked on a banner and afterwards installed the app, you need to generate a URL which will be used as a landing page for the banner in Adform system.

To do that, you need the click attribution link, which can be found in the Click-through attribution section in AppsFlyer, in the Click attribution link field.

The click attribution link should look like this:

https://app.appsflyer.com/com.appsflyer?pid=xxxxxx&clickid=%%ADFTRID%%&advertising_id=%%ADFDEVID%%&ADFrid=%%ADFRID%%&appDownloadData=%%ADFAPPDATA%%

There are two ways how you can then configure the click-through tracking:

  • Create a banner in the Adform platform, or edit the existing one, by pasting the copied link as Click URL.

  • Replace the destination URL in the Tags page by clicking Replace_URL.PNG in the tag row you want to edit, selecting the Replace option and pasting the copied link as the Replace URL.

Note

Installation event tracking and in-app event tracking should be activated before to track their respective events.

View-Through Tracking (Impression Attribution)

To track users who saw the ad and afterwards installed the app (performed in-app action), you need to generate a URL, which will be used as impression pixel in Adform system.

To do that, you need the impression attribution link, which can be found in the View-through attribution section in AppsFlyer, in the Impression attribution link field.

The impression attribution link should look like this:

http://impression.appsflyer.com/com.appsflyer?pid=xxxxxx&clickid=%%ADFTRID%%&advertising_id=%%ADFDEVID%%&ADFrid=%%ADFRID%%&appDownloadData=%%ADFAPPDATA%%

Paste this link as a tracking pixel in the Tags page in Adform. For more details on setting up tracking pixels in Adform, see Tracking Pixels.

Note

Install event tracking and in-app event tracking should be enabled to track their respective events.

You need to send any Mobile Advertising (IDFA or GAID) to AppsFlyer for the integration to work properly.

For more information about the AppsFlyer tracking integration, you can contact Site Tracking Support (site-tracking@adform.com).
