Global events are the actions that you set to happen when a specific condition is met. The following events are available on Adform Studio:
-
In Screen: Starts or stops an action based on whether the ad is visible within the browser window. Use this event to start an action when the viewer first sees the ad or when the ad goes out of view.
-
On Load: Starts an action on a specific component when the ad loads.
-
Weather: Changes ad content based on current weather conditions. Use this event to display different ads for different real-time temperature ranges and weather conditions, such as clear, rainy, cloudy, snowy, or windy. The dynamic Weather component is only available in Adform Studio BETA Weather version. Weather data is provided by OpenWeather.
Before you add a Global Event component, make sure that your ad includes other components that the event will trigger. Global Events can trigger actions on these components:
-
Panel Slide
-
Video
-
Product Retargeting
-
Cube
-
Carousel

Note
On Load event can't be used with Particles component.

A rule triggers the action when any selected condition matches the current weather and the temperature is within the specified range. If you add multiple rules, the one that matches the current weather conditions will apply.
Note
To promote separate products in various weather conditions — for example, both clear and rainy — while maintaining the same message, insert two distinct Dynamic Weather Targeting components into a single ad.
When you use version spreadsheets for dynamic ads, consider these specifics for Dynamic Weather Targeting event:
-
The component replaces the default CTA with CTA-xxxx based on the weather targeting values specified in the Name and Variable Name fields.
-
While creating the spreadsheet, be aware that the corresponding columns should be made up from the name of the original column, contain a dash symbol (-), and have a group name. For example, if you have a CTA column and want to show a specific message when it's cold, there should be a column named "CTA-cold".
-
A single Weather Targeting component requires only one version. If you need to define additional targeting capabilities, such as geography targeting, you can add a new one.
-
The Weather Targeting component itself doesn't need a separate column in the spreadsheet. However, make sure that the component Name and Variable Name match the values in the Text and Asset creative columns.
-
Columns that are used by the Weather Targeting component should be listed in the Column Mapping interface and also reflected in Adform Studio Builder mode component settings.
